Rational
“To suggest that the United States orchestrated this on behalf of a political candidate – it sounds not rational,”~White House spokeswoman Dana Perino
Not RATIONAL!?!… Logical… no. Reasonable… no. POSSIBLE probable ehh? But not rational!?!
RATIONALIZATION madame spokesperson, is if nothing else understood to be a fundamental precept of America, The idea that anybody in Washington could have been complicit in orchestrating the conflict between Georgia Proper and South Ossetia in an attempt to spotlight a particular Presidential Candidates foreign policy credentials, while seemingly ludicrous, is well within the current rational of American politics. Further more, The above rational, though somewhat late, would showcase the current administration’s ability to ,learn, to wag more and bite less.
Though mixing the current administration’s historical failures with events in Russia prior to the invasion, and indeed even the speed with which this rational was put forward, would seem in itself to be indicative of a family ,swordfishing, trip.
Anybody with an understanding of the ties that bind would understand, not only the possibility , but the logical rational behind the above statement.
American politicians (or even ordinary citizens) by their very nature, possess a truly unique ability to rationalize the most seemingly incomprehensible…
U.S. economy on verge of collapse due to weakening dollar, due to Housing market collapse, due to Oil companies reaching new record profits. Rational…
Oil prices rise due to increased demand in Asia.(where they have less than a lugnut between 1 billion people. Rational…
U.S. to stay in Iraq till 2011 to protect Iraqis oil. Rational…
Iraq strikes deal to produce oil for China. Rational…
U.S. puts missiles in Russian border countries declares friendly intentions. Rational…
Russia attempting to revive cold war due to U.S. putting missiles in Russian border countries. Rational…
And on…and on… and on.
Being a election year Americans generally have come to expect their candidate to put forth as rational an argument for being elected as possible, Barack Obama wants you to have the audacity to hope that his new found rock star status provides him an ability to effect the kind of change in direction, this country so desperately needs. That his historical candidacy is proof that Americans are tired of the same old Washington politics.
John McCain wants you to believe that it is his lifetime spent in the service of America, that offers the brightest future for this country. Indeed one only has to understand the principals of Duty and Country, and the need to protect the process, that when faced with the recognition that the bonds of servitude conflict with any hope of preservation of said process, that offers the RATIONAL, for his throwing himself on his own political sword.
As a U.S. President, I only hope that Barack Obama can show a measure of the same rational principals.

I stopped voting right after my time in Viet Nam in the 60s.
Then, I found out about the Electoral College. That assured me America was not really of, by, or for the People…

Really excellent ‘take’ on reality and rationalization/manipulation.
I spend much of my time, creating characters and ‘realities’ and as Shakespeare says: “All the World’s a Stage”.
