Owed!
I have to say that it is time for the old guard to step back and let the new guard take control. Without question, that new guard is best represented by Obama.~BY THE REV. JIM HOLLEY
I in no way condone the recent ACCIDENTAL “mic on” remarks of Rev. Jackson towards Senator Obama. But as troubling as the former “Shadow Senator’s” remarks may have been, It is the underlying sentiment, in the idea that some how the “old guard” of the Civil Rights movement should now relinquish their seats, that I find quite disturbing. Indeed an Obama Presidency must be seen as ,Representative, of the civil rights produced by the efforts of the “old guard”.
As the Senator attempts to “accept HIS role as an “AMERICAN” candidate for change” it would appear that the Guard have missed that which should now be “represented” as the true CIVILIZED RIGHTS movement of the millennium! Simply~ Economics.
By no longer dividing economics by racial Per capita Percentages and by recognizing that Poverty is the single inclusive of all discriminations, be it racial, theological, gender, and/or even geographical. And that is through the restructuring and reverse targeting of the “Median Income” model used throughout this country, that would not only narrow the extreme gaps between “Classes” but would promote economic stability, Thus creating far more Equality in opportunity. ( this is only an example of the possibilities to create change)
While I am aware that economics has been targeted in the past towards racial and gender equalities, I believe it is through continued use of such limited targeting that has contributed to the ever widening Sociological gaps in this country. In applying some of the dedication demonstrated in those old tactics used in the fight for racial equality I believe it would benefit the new guard in seeking not only approval but council and support for such, Civilized Rights, If for no other reason than, that the RESPECT and GRATITUDE for the providing such an opportunity to meet this challenge, Is “OWED” to those “Old Guard”.

Hmmm…
Gotta chew on that…
