On the topic of Senator Barack Obama’s yes vote on FISA.
Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, founder of Daily Kos, said Monday on MSNBC’s “Countdown With Keith Olbermann”: “Let’s be honest, it is either Obama or John McCain. So we really don’t have much of a choice.”
So much for change, as it would appear that we once again we are left to vote for the lesser of two evils! Why? Why is this our only choice? Why because our TV has 27 Home Shopping channels telling us that Cubic zirconia and plastic is the new DIAMONDS and PEARLS. Because we flock to Churches where prayer request for your personal salvation is included FREE, with your monetary donations for the arming of Christian soldiers, ( in a belief that a first strike is the only way to prevent Armageddon). Because we can allow a fellow being to lay in the floor of a HOSPITAL dieing with only a camera to notice! Because all of this and more, even when we “NOTICE” is acceptable.
In a previous post Omegetymon asked a ” HAS BARACK OBAMA Been to HIS MOUNTAINTOP?” and then most recently ask “Has Barack Obama been shown the WRONG MOUNTAIN TOP?” , While it’s less obvious whose driving, I think I have a pretty good Idea whose going to end up paying for gas.
So now begins the era of the NEOCRAT! NEOCRAP!
One mite note the speed with which our acceptance and forgiveness of this transgression against our civil liberties has passed.
Horrified as I was by Obama’s support for FISA, it actually did an important service in bringing Democrats down to earth and forcing them to realize that Obama’s a politician, not a messiah, and not the second coming of Martin Luther King. Obama’s going to keep on making unsavory compromises because that’s what a politician has to do in this kind of system. And, like anybody crazy enough to make a serious run for president, he’s gotta be an extreme narcissist with a pathological lust for power. So, while I’m disappointed, I have no problem forgiving him for being what he is.
